You found a video you want to keep. Maybe it is your own Reel, a recipe clip you keep losing, or a tutorial you want to watch on a flight. Tomitingo is a free website that saves that video for you. You paste the link, pick the quality, and the file lands in your gallery or downloads folder. No app to install, no browser extension, no account to create. The whole thing runs in your browser at tomitingo.com.
This site is a guide to using it well. We explain what Tomitingo handles, where it hits its limits, and how to save videos in a way that respects the people who made them.
Quick facts
- What it is: a browser-based video downloader at tomitingo.com
- Cost: free, with no registration
- Platforms: Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter/X and Snapchat
- Formats: MP4 and WebM for video, MP3 for audio
- Top quality: up to 4K on YouTube where the original offers it, full HD on Instagram Reels
- Devices: Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows and Mac, straight from the browser
- Limit: public videos only. Private posts will not load.
How it works, step by step
The process takes under a minute once you have done it once.
- Open the video in its app or in your browser and copy the link. On most apps that means the share button, then "Copy link".
- Go to tomitingo.com in any browser and paste the link into the box on the page.
- Tomitingo fetches the video from the platform's own servers and shows you the available formats and quality levels.
- Pick the one you want and save. The file goes to your gallery on a phone or your downloads folder on a computer.
That is the whole flow. If you want the same steps with screenshots of what to tap on each app, our download page walks you through getting started in plain order.
What you can save, platform by platform
Instagram Reels in full HD
Reels are the most common job people bring to Tomitingo. Paste a Reel link from a public account and you can save it in full HD, the same quality you watched it in. It is a handy way to keep your own Reels backed up outside the app, or to hold on to a workout or recipe video before it gets buried. Our guide on saving Instagram Reels in full HD covers the steps and what to try when a Reel refuses to load.
YouTube videos and Shorts up to 4K
For YouTube, paste a video or Shorts link and choose your resolution. Standard options run up to 1080p, and videos that were uploaded in 4K can be saved at that size too. Files come down as MP4 or WebM. Keep in mind the file only matches the original upload. A video uploaded in 720p will never come out sharper than 720p.
TikTok without the watermark
TikTok's own save button stamps a bouncing watermark with the creator's name on the file. Tomitingo pulls the clean version instead, so the video you save has no watermark burned in. Creators often use this to repost their own clips to other platforms without the stamp. We wrote up the full method in our post on downloading a TikTok video without a watermark.
Facebook, Twitter/X and Snapchat
Public Facebook videos and posts, public tweets with video, and public Snapchat content all work the same way: copy the link, paste it, save the file. The common thread is the word public. If a post needs you to be logged in, be someone's friend, or belong to a private group to see it, Tomitingo cannot reach it either.
The YouTube to MP3 converter
Sometimes you want the sound, not the picture. Tomitingo includes a YouTube to MP3 converter that pulls just the audio from a video and saves it at 320kbps, the highest quality MP3 handles. People use it for talks, interviews and their own uploaded music. Our guide to converting YouTube to MP3 at 320kbps explains how it works and where the legal line sits for audio.
Formats and quality, in plain terms
MP4 is the safe default. It plays on basically every phone, tablet, TV and computer made in the last fifteen years. WebM is a smaller file at similar quality and plays well in browsers and on Android, but some Apple devices and editing apps still grumble about it. MP3 is audio only. When in doubt, pick MP4 at the highest resolution offered. That is the version closest to what the creator uploaded.
What Tomitingo cannot do
Private videos are the hard limit. A Reel from a private account, a Facebook video shared inside a private group, anything behind a login wall: the tool has no way in, and it does not try to break in. It also cannot improve a blurry original, and it cannot save live streams while they are still live. If a link fails, the video is usually private, deleted, or region-locked.
Safety and fair use
Tomitingo itself hosts nothing. It fetches the file from the platform's servers at the moment you ask, which is also why it stops working the moment a video goes private or gets deleted. The tool's own legal notice limits use to personal and educational fair use, and that is the right way to treat it. Save your own uploads freely. For other people's work, keep it for private viewing, do not re-upload it as yours, and do not strip a creator's name off their work to pass it off as your own. Copyright belongs to the creator, and each platform's terms still apply to what you do with a file after saving it. Our disclaimer page spells out where this guide stands.
Frequently asked questions
Is Tomitingo free? Yes. You paste a link and save the file. There is no account and no paid tier involved.
Do I need to install anything? No. It runs in the browser on your phone or computer. Any app store listing claiming to be the official Tomitingo app is not from the service.
Why did my link fail? Almost always because the video is private, deleted, or age-restricted. Public link, public video: that is the combination that works.
Is the quality the same as the original? You get the best version the platform serves, up to full HD for Reels and up to 4K for YouTube videos that were uploaded in 4K.
Where does the file go? Into your gallery or photos app on a phone, and into the downloads folder on a computer.
The short version
Tomitingo does one job and keeps it simple: paste a public video link, save the file. Use it for your own clips and the videos you genuinely need offline, credit the people who made what you keep, and you will get the best out of it. When you are ready, head to the download page and try it with a video of your own.
